POM-C (DELRIN)

POM-C (DELRIN®)

POM-C (DELRIN®) (Polyacetal Copolymer) is a semi-crystalline engineering plastic known for its high mechanical strength, low coefficient of friction, and excellent wear resistance. It provides stable performance in applications requiring tight tolerances and continuous motion. POM-C (DELRIN®) offers lighter weight, quieter operation, and reduced maintenance requirements compared to metal alternatives. Its resistance to deformation under load ensures long-term dimensional stability, making it a reliable choice for precision-machined components. POM-C (DELRIN®) engineering plastics are widely used in industrial applications due to their excellent wear resistance and low-friction properties. In Turkey, this material is often referred to as “Delrin®”. However, Delrin® is a registered trademark of DuPont and specifically refers to the POM homopolymer product family. Over time, the Delrin® name has become a commonly used industrial term for POM materials in the Turkish market.

Material Structure and Technical Properties

Thanks to its semi-crystalline structure, POM-C (DELRIN®) combines high strength with low-friction performance. Its low moisture absorption rate allows the material to maintain consistent performance under varying environmental conditions.
  • High Mechanical Strength: Resistant to deformation under load
  • Low Coefficient of Friction: Ensures smooth operation in moving components
  • Excellent Wear Resistance: Maintains performance during long-term use
  • Dimensional Stability: Minimally affected by moisture and temperature changes
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to oils, fuels, and many solvents
  • Excellent Machinability: Suitable for CNC machining and precision manufacturing

Technical Performance and Application Behavior

POM-C (DELRIN®) delivers outstanding performance in applications where friction and wear are critical factors. Its low coefficient of friction helps reduce energy loss and extend component service life. Its excellent surface finish also helps minimize the need for additional surface treatment. Thanks to its low moisture absorption, it provides long-term dimensional stability throughout its service life.
